Southwest Oklahoma rain doesn't drizzle; it unloads. The spring 2025 storms that had the whole county watching creek levels were an extreme version of what every gravel drive here faces a few times a year: a sheet of fast water looking for the lowest path. A drive that sits flat or hollow is that path. The middle scours, the edges hold, and by summer the drive is a shallow ditch with rock scattered along both sides.
Crown fixes it. A drive shaped to shed from the centerline gives water no reason to run down its length, and a low spot that has to carry crossing water gets handled on purpose instead of by erosion. The lake country northeast of town adds its own version of the job. Places out at Ellsworth and Lawtonka often sit down leaf-covered lanes that see weekend traffic, wet-season slop and the occasional boat trailer, and they need a surface that works in February, not just July. We shape and gravel those lanes to carry weight and shed water, and grade the parking spots so trucks and trailers stop sinking their own craters.
